Details

The GE Inverter Snubber Board DS200ITXSG1ABB features one 8-pin connector, two 2-pin connectors, and multiple test points. It also is populated with four capacitors. The test points are a useful tool for servicers because they enable the various circuits on the board to be tested. The testing device must be approved for the purpose and properly calibrated. The probes must be designed for use with the tester. Inspect the probes and make sure any insulation on the probes is in good condition and is not worn.

When the board is tested, first wear a wrist strap and use a screwdriver to remove the screws that attach the board to the rack. Note where cables are connected and tag the cables with information so that you can re plug the cables when you reinstall the board. When you remove the board, keep it from scraping against the sides of the cabinet opening or hitting other components in the drive. Place the board on a flattened static bag on a clean and sturdy surface. For example, on a workbench or a desk.

When the repair is complete and you are ready to reinstall the drive, first slide the board into the cabinet. The board is 13 inches by 5.75 inches with holes in the four corners. Align the board with the space in the metal rack designed to secure the board and use the four screws to secure it. The screws should be snug but not overtightened. Too much pressure can cause the board to crack or chip.

The DS200ITXSG1ABB GE Inverter Snubber Board features one 8-pin connector, two 2-pin connectors, four capacitors and multiple test points. This board generates a significant amount of heat, that if allowed to build up can cause sensors in the drive to produce an error condition to keep the drive from overheating.

Damage to the motor or electrical components can occur if the drive is allowed to overheat. This may also lead to other saftey hazards including fire inside of the unit. When the overheat condition occurs, the drive is automatically shut off and you must take action to rectify the situation. Trip conditions occur when these errors are processed and displays on the control panel display.

Install the drive in a space that allows air to flow freely over and through the drive to prevent an overheat condition. Depending on the conditions, you might have to supply cooled air to cool the components in the drive. The air must be free of dust and harsh chemicals as the drive is designed for the air to flow from the bottom opening of the drive and pass over the components to cool them. To aide with the flow of air, route cables away from the bottom and top openings of the drive so that the flow of air is not blocked.
